  • Significant experience in managing web conference meetings and webinars.

  • Assist in the daily operation of DCE studios at Brattle Square and Story Street. This on-site work includes the real-time production support of HELIX Forum as a course and event delivery technology in regards to camera operation, audio recording, and lighting

  • Assist in managing post-production assets, editing, posting of 4k video materials.

  • Under the guidance of the Manager of DCE Studios, create materials and update documentation and procedures.

  • Train full-time and less-than-half-time temporary employees on studio processes, pre-production, production and post-production expectations.

  • Conduct in-depth tours and demonstrations of studios and HELIX Forum for internal and external clients, as well as Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) faculty.

  • Assist the DCE Emerging Technology Solutions team with running special events, projects and technology pilots as needed. The setup, operation and breakdown of the Portable HELIX system around campus is a current example of this type of responsibility. Local and remote testing of prototypes is another.

  • Attend training sessions to stay up to date with production processes.

Job Summary:

This position will report to the Manager of DCE Studios and will work closely with the Director of Online Course Technology and Innovation. With creative use of cutting-edge technology, we deliver online courses that allow students at a distance to be virtually present in the classroom or in a studio with the faculty member. The DCE Studio Production Specialist will be responsible for recording, preparation, assembly, production and troubleshooting of the multimedia created in the Division of Continuing Education’s (DCE) Brattle Square and Story Street studios.

Work Format:Hybrid (partially on-site, partially remote) Work Format Details:

This position will be in person based on Harvard's campus in Cambridge, MA. Any hybrid work must be specially arranged with manager at manager's discretion. Hybrid workplace models are in place at DCE with a minimum of 2 days per week on campus. DCE or department may adjust these as necessary or appropriate.

Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.

Established in 1910, the Harvard Extension School (HES) offers access to Harvard faculty for a diverse community of adult learners, enrolling about 15,000 students. HES offers over 1,000 open enrollment courses — 85 percent of which are accessible online — and provides flexibility through noncredit, undergraduate, and graduate courses, including degrees, certificates, and a premedical program.
