  • Experience working across teams and with a variety of projects and constituencies

  • Staff the Rad Cafe student space during open hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 3–6pm), and work with the APO team on ordering and replenishing supplies for Rad Cafe to keep it well stocked.

  • Coordinate with APO and cross-Institute teams to ensure student access to Rad Cafe and manage space reservations for Rad Cafe.

  • Expand the Rad Cafe community, including through added activities.

Radcliffe Student Advisory Board

  • Plan, organize, and lead monthly Student Advisory Board meetings to discuss initiatives, gather feedback, and foster collaboration among board members.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for board members.

  • Collaborate with board members to design and implement student events and activities that align with the interdisciplinary and engaged work at Radcliffe.

  • Create and implement surveys, focus groups, or forums to gather input from the advisory board on issues and opportunities for campus enhancement.

Support Radcliffe campus courses

  • Complete administrative tasks to support HRI’s spring courses, in collaboration with the APO team and Dean’s Office, including:

  • Ensuring swipe access for all students in campus courses and informing them of access to Rad Cafe and other Radcliffe opportunities;

  • Arranging two cocurricular events (including transportation, if needed) and dinner for students in first-year seminars;

  • Supporting Dean’s Executive Assistant, as requested, in administrative needs of class.

Coordinate across Radcliffe student-facing staff

  • Participate in meetings related to student engagement at the Institute; take minutes at such meetings if/as requested.

  • Work with cross-Institute teams to ensure ongoing input and verification of student data; help to respond to requests for student data; assist with end-of-year student engagement stats/reporting.

  • Elevate student questions or concerns to relevant staff members, as needed.

Support other programmatic efforts that involve student engagement:

  • Support student-related duties cross-Institute/depts.

  • Support with end-of-year student convenings and celebrations, including distribution of swag to Radcliffe-affiliated students.

  • May be asked to support student events related to spring 2025 visiting scholar and/or student sessions as part of visiting committee.

  • Obtain and organize information about student activities across Harvard, particularly in those areas that align with Radcliffe’s mission and focus areas.

  • Curate and maintain a collection of resources tailored to students' needs in collaboration with cross-Institute departments.

  • Serve as a resource and guide for students seeking ways to get involved at Radcliffe.

  • Create and maintain HRI student events calendar, updating weekly.

    Miscellaneous

  • Support APO team with various office-based administrative tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • This job is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Travel to other sites across the University will be required.

  • Work hours between 9 am to 5 pm and a 5-day Monday through Friday work week should be expected for this role. Occasional work beyond 5 pm may be required to provide program support.

  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule in support of program delivery will be required

Job Summary:

The Student Engagement Assistant for Academic Programs performs a wide range of administrative and direct student-facing tasks related to student programming at Harvard Radcliffe Institute. The Student Engagement Assistant will maintain the Rad Cafe space on campus, lead Radcliffe’s Student Advisory Board, coordinate collaboration and communication among all student-facing staff, and support other programmatic efforts that involve student engagement. This also includes dedicated time to support the Academic Ventures & Engagement department with student-related tasks each week.
