Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Modern Commerce exists to bridge our customers, products, and billing scenarios across Microsoft’s offerings. The Modern Accounts team sits at the foundation of the customer experience in Commerce, providing critical infrastructure and data management to enable commerce flows. Our mission is to serve legal entity data and billing information in ways that are safe, compliant, and reliable, while driving great customer experiences.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead efforts that drive the Azure and Office businesses. You will have high impact on the performance of Microsoft’s experience flows and opportunities to drive scenarios that span across Commerce channels.

  • Understand and focus on the benefit our systems have on our customers and partners.

  • Lead architecture, design, and development features and solutions with high quality.

  • Be invested in the long-term. While it is important to deliver value month by month, we need to avoid technical debt and other complications that will slow us in the future.

  • Be a mentor for other engineers and promote an inclusive learning environment.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience with an object-oriented programming language.

  • 2+ years experience with building large-scale, highly resilient web services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise with C# or .NET.

  • Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, maintaining online services.

  • Experience working in cloud environments.

  • Familiarity with cloud environments.

  • Great verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.

  • Solid design and coding skills with a bias for architecture at scale.
