Primary Responsibilities:
This Senior Applications Systems Engineer position is part of a small team supporting a large and complex deployment of IBM’s Maximo enterprise asset management product. The Maximo team is part of Harvard University IT’s Campus Systems team which supports a wide array of business units that are essential to Harvard’s day-to-day operations.
This Senior Application Systems Engineer position reports into the Senior Product Manager who is overall responsible for the University Maximo platform. Our Maximo deployment involves the core IBM Maximo product, EZMaxMobile/EZMaxVendor applications, as well as a few custom applications to augment the Maximo product’s core functionality. The key responsibilities of this role span all aspects of managing the platform and service to the community, as follows:
Operational Support:
Primary person for end-user support.
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production issues and requests in a timely manner. Use root cause analysis to fix recurring issues
Contributes to the team’s knowledge repositories to ensure operational support knowledge is captured and shared.
Provide rotating 24/7 on-call support (1 week out of 10) to ensure that customer service levels are met.
Collaborate to continuously improve processes, policies and procedures.
May provide training to clients/staff as needed.
Project Delivery:
Support incremental functionality being developed and added to the platform.
Actively participate in business analysis, requirements identification sessions, and support testing activities – testing new functionality and/or doing regression testing, and more broadly, support the Senior Product Manager and business stakeholders in planning and delivering projects in support of the Maximo platform
