About This Role:

Forrester’s Senior Analyst is part of the B2C marketing research team and helps leaders make strategic organizational and technology decisions to power growth with customer-centric marketing. The role entails research and analysis, writing, and delivery of various content types, including speaking engagements that balance visionary points of view with practical advice and guidance.

This position requires a strong understanding of B2C and B2B2C marketing and media measurement and analytics. We are looking for someone experienced in marketing analytics, marketing measurement, media analytics, and marketing performance — with the technical acumen to navigate marketing and media analytics techniques, a clear point of view on how marketing analytics supports data-driven marketing strategies, and an understanding of how machine learning approaches contribute to enhancing marketing performance measurement. Our ideal candidate is confident; motivated to address Forrester clients’ top marketing priorities; and comfortable speaking with the press, delivering keynote speeches, and advising B2C CMOs and other consumer marketing executives across industries.

Successful candidates will be a thought leader on topics including marketing measurement strategies, media analytics, audience measurement, diverse marketing measurement methodologies (including predictive approaches like marketing mix modeling), campaign evaluation techniques, experimental design, ROI modeling, as well as the tools and technologies utilized in marketing measurement. Proficiency in data strategies for marketing measurement, optimization methodologies, and strategies for translating insights into actionable plans will be essential.

Job Description:

The Senior Analyst works as part of a growing, high-performance team of other analysts, researchers, and program managers and collaborates with team members in all job aspects, including:

  • Content planning. Determine an integrated research and content portfolio based on clients’ top priorities and market opportunities.

  • Research. Oversee, conduct, and analyze primary research based on content plan.

  • Publishing. Write/produce content in various formats (reports, blog posts, data digests, infographics, video, etc.).

  • Client engagement. Apply Forrester’s research and frameworks to help clients solve business challenges through short- and long-term client engagements.

  • Thought leadership. Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker. Speak with the press, present at Forrester and external industry events, and deliver client presentations and webinars.

  • Guidance. Educate, align and demonstrate how to develop marketing measurement strategies and prove marketing’s value to the business.

  • Coverage development. Evolve and productize marketplace coverage, and work with Forrester sales and analyst relations to evangelize it with clients and prospects.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 10 years’ marketing analytics and measurement experience as a practitioner at an agency, brand (in-house), or consulting firm.

  • Advanced degree in analytics; statistics; or data-driven, marketing-specific discipline is preferred.

  • Proficiency in marketing measurement and analytics methodologies, including familiarity with advanced approaches.

  • Knowledge of organizational frameworks required to effectively leverage data-driven insights.

  • Deep understanding of the broader marketing and advertising landscape and of the technology and service providers that deliver marketing analytics solutions.

  • An inclination toward emerging technologies and methods, such as machine learning, and how they may enhance marketing analytics.

  • Superior analytical, writing, and presentation skills.

  • The ability to be bold and conceptual yet practical and actionable.

  • Sense of collaboration within a supportive, integrated team.

  • The ability to travel 30% to 50% of the time.


Please note that the base salary range indicated here is inclusive of all applicable US geographies listed in this requisition, with the exception of New York City. This salary range is based upon the position as described in the job listing. The offered compensation may vary within this range and is dependent upon the successful candidate’s primary work location, experience, training, education, and credentials.

Base salary range: $119,000 - $193,000

Base salary range for New York City, NY: $137,000 - $223,000

Applicants in Colorado: please refer to the annual base salary range and estimated bonus target indicated below. Base salary is dependent on an employee’s experience and skills compared to the requirements of the role.

Annual Base Salary Range: $119,000 - $193,000

The following percentage is an estimated variable target as a percentage of base salary, in accordance with the Forrester Employee Bonus Plan. Individual and company performance and other factors as set forth in the applicable plan will determine the actual incentive amount earned. 

Bonus Target: 10%
