About This Role:

The Research Associate works directly with a team of analysts who research, write, and publish reports to help business technology professionals succeed in their roles.

Job Description:

Research:

  • Provide timely and value-added research support for designated analysts and provide backup to other analysts in the team.

  • Schedule and coordinate reference customer and vendor interviews.

  • Assist in creating survey questions and fulfilling surveys to collect data.

  • Analyze data and format into informational views as required.

  • Assist in building analytical models, maturity models, self-assessment tools, etc.

  • Provide support for presentation and graphics creation (not currently supported via SPi) for Forrester events, consulting, conferences, webinars, etc.

  • Conduct secondary research for published reports using industry sources, including competitive assessment and third-party data analysis.

  • Manage press and vendor community contacts.

  • Learn and handle quantitative work with Forrester’s data.

  • Coordinate use of social media platforms (blogs, Twitter, online community) in the research and publishing process.

  • Assist team managers with collecting and analyzing team performance metrics through data dashboards.

Sales/marketing support:

  • Help the marketing and sales force understand published and upcoming reports. This may include giving short presentations and suggesting appropriate reports for potential clients.

Job Requirements:

  • A BA/BS degree and a strong academic record. Undergraduate majors are welcome to apply; any quantitative or statistics interest is a major plus.

  • One to two years of varied undergraduate or postgraduate work experience.

  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

  • Proficiency in touch-typing.

  • Familiarity with software development concepts and terminology is a big plus.

  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail; resourcefulness in building reusable assets such as survey questions and formatted data outputs.

  • Outspoken and articulate approach to verbal and written communication; an outgoing and engaging personality, especially on the telephone.

  • Self-motivation and sharp analysis.

  • A passionate learner of technology; curiosity about subject matters such as digital customer experience technologies, mobile technologies, application development platforms, and/or big data.
