Department:Clinical and Translational Science CenterPre-Employment Screening:Identity Schedule:35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 9:00 am - 5:00 pmJob Function:Research Position Description:

This position is responsible for supporting staff in the day-to-day clinical research activities, including the Early Aging In-person Assessments (EA-IPA) Study, the Health Biodata Initiative and the PRESS Study. This position will support participant recruitment, screening, and tracking. Tasks will include player outreach, eligibility screening, sample collection distribution, and supplies inventory. The position reports to tResearch Domain Area Project Manager.

  • Support staff in the execution of one or more research studies from study start-up through execution to completion.

  • Perform administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, booking conference rooms, stakeholder follow-up, etc.

  • Assist in tracking and maintaining the status of active protocols, study forms, training documentation, and additional research support materials

  • Assist staff in the development and execution of recruitment plans, data intake forms and coordination of study related events

  • Assist with data review for quality and completeness

  • Support the preparation reports, presentations, tracking documents, and other materials for internal and external purposes

  • Perform necessary literature reviews and obtain background materials pertinent to research areas

  • Demonstrate and maintain compliance with research policies ICH-GCP and federal regulations

  • Assist the Project Managers in work, as needed

  • Contribute to the Program’s goals by accomplishing related duties as required

Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. A large research study (“The Football Players Health Study at Harvard University”) was initiated in 2014 to evaluate and improve the health and wellbeing of former professional football players. The Study is funded by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and is one of the largest sports research projects ever undertaken.

The Study is researching medical conditions that affect the quality and longevity of life of football players and working to identify and prioritize promising new approaches to prevent, diagnose and treat those conditions that afflict them. The Study strives to meet its aims by collecting data directly from players and by supporting innovative research. The research program sits within Harvard Catalyst | The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center.
