Our client, Harvard University is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team.

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Location: Cambridge , MA

Pay Range: $50/hr on W2

What’s the Job?

Position Overview :

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care to patients across all age groups within the Harvard community, following physicians' orders and adhering to department policies and procedures. This role involves working in various settings, including Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, and satellite clinics, and focuses on delivering health maintenance, episodic, and chronic care. The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, responding to emergencies, and documenting care thoroughly.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Patient Care & Triage : Conduct telephone and in-person triage, assess patients for current health problems, medications, and allergies, and provide follow-up care.

  • Emergency Response : Identify and manage acute or emergency situations, acting promptly in accordance with policies.

  • Medical Procedures : Assist with or perform procedures such as ECGs, IV infusions, dressing changes, and injections.

  • Patient Education & Management : Provide patient education, assist with medication and Coumadin management, and support patients with chronic health conditions and behavioral health challenges.

  • Collaboration & Coordination : Work closely with clinical staff, manage communications from the interdisciplinary team, and ensure continuity of care across the healthcare continuum.

  • Documentation : Complete accurate, timely electronic medical records and act on test results (labs, x-rays).

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • 3-5+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical setting

  • IV Therapy skills

Top Skills :

  1. Experience in telephone/in-person triage

  2. Proficiency in assisting with procedures such as ECGs and injections

  3. Ability to manage multiple chronic health conditions and acute episodes of care

Soft Skills :

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Calm and effective communication, especially in emergency situations

  • Ability to mentor and serve as a resource to colleagues

Additional Information :

  • All training will be onsite, and adherence to departmental expectations, including HIPAA Privacy and Security training, is required. The RN may be asked to float to different clinics based on patient care demands.
