CHA Dietitians are experts in food and love eating real food. Every dietitian is licensed by the state, has a degree in nutrition and passed a board exam. They maintain their skills through continuing education. Many of our team members have areas of specialty. These include Master’s Degrees, Certified Nutrition Support, Certified Diabetes Educator, Adult and Pediatric Weight management, Yoga Certifications or Personal Training.

Responsibilities include:• Performing diet assessments accurately and providing counseling accordingly• Providing individual nutrition counseling that is interactive and responsive to participants' knowledge, skills, and interests• Incorporating culturally and linguistically appropriate nutrition education materials and/or food models into nutrition counseling sessions• Establishing and explaining nutrition education plans with participants at appointments and documenting plan in participant's record• Collaborating participant care with the nutrition staff, health care providers, and social workers• Assisting in training professional and paraprofessional nutrition staff, dietetic interns, students, and agency staff• Assisting in developing nutrition education materials

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, food and nutrition, or related fields required. Master's degree preferred, but may be substituted with work experience.

Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum two years experience in community and medical nutrition therapy post internship. Experience in health care or community facility preferred.

Skills: Demonstrated collaborative team player. Strong interpersonal, communication skills; bilingual preferred. Availability to work at multiple sites and Saturday/evening hours as needed. Ability to transport between sites.
