We are looking for people who have:

  • Hands-on quality assurance experience, or equivalent transferable technical experience

  • Experience testing multi-tiered, transactional web applications

  • Ability to understand user stories and technical specifications and translate them into test cases

  • Experience delivering software solutions using iterative methodologies, such as Agile/Scrum

  • Working knowledge of web accessibility standards

  • Experience implementing performance and load testing strategies

  • Experience using collaboration and test management tools

  • Knowledge of system integration techniques, scripting languages and web services

  • Ability to operate within short release cycles

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, working both with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Drive to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction, product quality and reliability

Position Description:

The QA Engineer is a member of the ITS Business Solutions team, responsible for performing quality assurance processes that ensure robust technology solutions are delivered to the Harvard Law School community. You will develop test plans and cases, perform hands-on testing, coordinate client acceptance testing, engage with vendors and participate in releases. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills as part of our dynamic and collaborative team. The successful candidate will thrive in a nimble, Agile development environment, enjoy working directly with our business partners, and be comfortable moving between technologies based on business requirements and emerging trends.

As a QA Engineer you will:

  • Work with clients to understand business processes and requirements

  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases

  • Implement test automation (functional and performance tests)

  • Lead integrated system testing sessions with clients

  • Build positive relationships with clients to promote effective communications and negotiations

  • Triage bugs with clients, to ensure accurate detail and prioritization

  • Assist Scrum-master in identifying and mitigating project risks

  • Participate in the execution of releases

  • Triage user support incidents escalated from the Service Desk

  • Be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the implementation process
