Abt Associates Program Operations Administrator - Grants Under Contract in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Opportunity Summary

Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO) is a $209 million project to support the Government of Mozambique’s achievement of HIV/AIDS epidemic control and establishing a sustainable, government-led HIV response by 2023 in provinces where USAID is the primary clinical support partner. The program operations administrator, grants under contract, will provide home office support to the Mozambique-based Grants Management team.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead Home Office support for Grants under Contract

  • Coordinate between Abt’s international accounting team, audit departments, and Mozambique-based grants management team

  • Supports updating of grants manual

  • Supports selection of grantees and collection of required documentation

  • Monitors compliance of grantees

  • Reviews grantee advance requests and reconciliations

  • Analyzes grants spending and prepares grants projections

  • Advises the project team on various issues related to grants

  • Supports and mentors the project’s grants team

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least six years of experience supporting operations in USAID-funded projects

  • At least 2 years of substantive experience supporting grants under contract in USAID-funded projects

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in USAID grant requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, and be detailed-oriented

  • Ability to work in teams, including supporting and mentoring team members

  • Portuguese language skills highly desired; If no Portuguese skills, advanced Spanish required

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD
