Job Description

COMPANY: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.

LOCATION: 168 Third Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 (can work remotely)

TITLE: Program Manager III

HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES: Manage project teams to deliver commitments and ensure continuous alignment of project objectives in the Genetic Science Division.

Lead complex programs and projects, manage trade-offs, determine and commit to the right scope, schedule, and budget for each project.

Manage and track day-to-day project work, identify risks and facilitate resolutions, and apply management tools and techniques to adhere to specific regulatory requirements.

Deliver project communications and phase approval reviews and provide clear and concise written and verbal communication to all levels of the project team and leadership executives.

Collaborate with core SMEs, product managers, and software engineers to manage projects from inception to completion and remove impending roadblocks.

Ensure adherence to Design Control procedures and apply best practices in the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing or projects.

Develop detailed project plans including Master Gantt Chart, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Resource Estimation, Effort Estimation, and scoping of business requirements.

Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Project Management or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in life sciences or medical device product development, technical project management, or related experience. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Project Management or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in life sciences or medical device product development, technical project management, or related experience as an equivalent alternative.

Required knowledge or experience with:

WBS, SOW, Scope, and Budget Planning;

Schedule Preparation, Change Management, Communication Management, Customer-Relation Management, Cost Estimation, and Resource Management;

MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams; and

Technical Tools: SharePoint, OneNote, Smartsheet, Adobe, Skype, WebEx, and Google Docs.
