    Job Description

PROGRAM ASSISTANT, MIT INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVES (MISTI), Center for International Studies (CIS), to perform complex and diverse administrative duties in support of the MISTI program (https://misti.mit.edu/) . Will provide support to the assistant director for student health and safety and the associate director and coordinate the country-specific international educational programs for Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. Responsibilities include processing student applications; performing intake interviews; assisting with the internship matching process; coordinating student travel arrangements, housing, insurance, and other administrative items with both hosts and students; serving as a contact point for interns; maintaining intern files and database; coordinating event logistics for training and organizing other program events; processing program financial transactions and reconciling program accounts; maintaining the program’s website and social media; drafting written materials and reports; analyzing student data for stakeholders; and performing other administrative tasks as needed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of professional administrative/office experience; excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; experience organizing and hosting small- and large-scale events; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; proficiency with MS Office/Outlook, Adobe, Airtable, and social media platforms; and willingness to learn new programs/software as needed. Must be able to follow through on tasks; work independently and as part of a team; and interact with a diverse group of faculty, students, staff, and corporate sponsors. PREFERRED: bachelor's degree; Mexico and Spain, global education, and/or MIT experience; spoken/written Spanish language proficiency; and knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce, Terra Dotta) and cloud-based programs (e.g., Concur, SAP).
