The Discovery Immunology Department is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, and motivated Ph.D. level scientist to join our Immunology Team. The candidate will have a strong background in the fields of immunology, autoimmune diseases and/or autoinflammation.

The candidate should have a creative passion for identifying unmet medical needs, evaluate and applying novel experimental approaches as well as a track record of driving results and rapidly progressing new and precedented drug targets from idea conception, to in-vitro & in-vivo evaluation and to first in human studies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to shape and lead program strategy in the context of inflammatory/autoimmune diseases

  • Recognized as an expert in their field; anticipates future trends within their own scientific discipline

  • Identify and apply emerging innovative methodologies to the development of advanced fit for -purpose in vitro models that represent human disease pathology in research projects targeting immunology indications

  • Managing large matrixed internal and external collaborations/capabilities across therapeutic and functional areas​

  • Strong leadership/interpersonal skills and motivation to work in a team environment with cross-functional interactions

  • Ability to manage a small team of scientists

  • Interest in mentoring, supporting and developing other team members

  • Develop and manage project-specific milestones and timelines

  • Communicate science and strategy to stakeholders and management

  • Desire to promote, and positively contribute to, a work culture that is diverse and inclusive, fosters a growth mindset and values respectful constructive feedback to progress business deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Immunology/Cell biology or related field, with 8+ years of research experience, MS with 10+ years of experience, or BS with 14+ years of experience. Must have at least 5 years of direct industry experience.

  • Proven track record of scientific achievements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of PhD and non-PhD scientists

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills

  • Excellent record-keeping skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in autoinflammatory diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, hidradenitis suppurativa and/or psoriasis

  • Prior large pharmaceutical experience preferred but not required.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
