The Business Infrastructure group at RTX BBN Technologies' Cambridge, MA office is seeking a Network Administrator. Our team handles all aspects of IT including, but not limited to: core (Cisco) network infrastructure, phone systems, lab setups, server installs and configuration, scripting, automation, and VM management. You will work mainly in our lab environments as a network administrator as well as collaborating with colleagues in Cambridge and our other remote offices. You'll work independently, installing and configuring server hardware and networking equipment. You will also work directly with our engineering staff, external vendors, and collaborators to solve complex and interesting problems.
The ideal candidate would have a moderate amount of networking knowledge, applicable certificates, and some experience with classified US Government networks. You should be able to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly and effectively. Flexibility and attention to detail is essential to this teams’ success.
What You Will Do:
Work with our Security team to ensure the network conforms to customer specification. (NIST and RMF requirements)
Work with team members to propose, design, purchase, and implement technical solutions to customer requirements.
Perform regular network device maintenance with regards to software updates, hardware refreshes, licensing, and changing requirements.
Diagnose and troubleshoot networking issues in the lab as they relate to other lab technologies including but not limited to Active Directory, antivirus software, network authentication services, or upstream network connections.
Work with multiple parties inside and outside of the Company to achieve networking goals within lab environments.
Qualifications You Must Have:
US citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Active security clearance is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking (or related field) or relevant professional experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. Or 6 years of industry experience without/ in lieu of a degree
Knowledge of networking essentials and Cisco Network Appliances, including routers, Layer 2 and 3 switches, and ASA Firewall/VPN devices
Current Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification
Qualifications We Prefer
Active DoD security clearance
Willingness to collaborate with others towards a common goal
Familiarity with NIST 800-53 standards and the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Current DoD-approved baseline IAT II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ISC2 SSCP)
Knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE application
Relevant experience with classified US government networks
Familiarity with DISA’s SCAP and STIG process and procedure
Experience with Trellix Endpoint Security Suite or relevant endpoint software
Experience with Nessus Scanner, ACAS, or other vulnerability scanner

The salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 144,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
