Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid – 3 to 4 days onsite)

Length: 6+ months

Job Description:

Are you a skilled Mechanical CAD Engineer with a passion for designing cutting-edge fixturing and test equipment? Our client is at the forefront of innovation and is looking for a talented Mechanical CAD Engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and is adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Design and develop fixturing and test equipment tailored to project requirements.

• Generate and review comprehensive mechanical system documentation.

• Create technical data packages in accordance with MIL-STD-31000, including ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing.

• Utilize SolidWorks and/or CREO to produce detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.

• Support multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

• Communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including non-technical personnel and program leadership.

Qualifications:

• An Associate’s degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD design and 2D drawing production using SolidWorks and/or CREO.

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000 standards.

• Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing.

• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and competing demands.

• Strong team player with effective communication skills.

• Over 2 years of experience working in a defense contracting environment is highly desirable.

• Experience with the 3DX Product Lifecycle Management tool is a plus.

• Due to the nature of the work, the ability to obtain a government security clearance is required.

• Candidates must be a United States Citizen.
