Under minimal direction this role directs Amgen’s Lab Asset Management Program (LAMP) at six locations in British Columbia, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Puerto Rico that include Process Development, Research, Manufacturing and Quality stakeholder groups. The Program Manager plays an integral role in building successful partnerships with external service providers in the execution of a global laboratory asset management program. In monitoring asset performance data this Program Manager has the authority to make recommendations for asset service level modifications and other improvements to sustain a high level of equipment uptime and customer satisfaction. Additional functions for this role may include creation or support of an end-to-end lifecycle management strategy.

Key accountabilities of this position include the following:

  • Service delivery and performance of Provider at six sites, oversight of approximately 22,000 assets and administration of a large budget.

  • Asset footprint includes 2,300 production-based assets at Manufacturing facilities which convey a high criticality for operations.

  • Supplier relationship management and leading a matrixed asset management team comprised of stakeholders and Integrated Service Provider (ISP) staff.

  • Leading program operational governance, driving the execution of innovative ideas in partnership with ISP and stakeholders, and promoting process improvements.

  • Supports Strategic Planning & Operations Director as required.

  • Travel up to 20% is a requirement for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Scientific and/or Business experience OR

  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Scientific and/or Business experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Scientific and/or Business experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Scientific and/or Business experience OR

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Scientific and/or Business experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Scientific and business experience a plus

  • Knowledge of lab equipment types and their applications/uses in a lab environment

  • Maximo expertise

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Strong finance background to support evaluations of asset cost structures

  • Experience working with outsourced service partners

  • Ability to manage adherence of contractual terms of outsourced partners

  • Ability to recommend innovative practices and operational efficiency, and oversee implementation of such

  • Robust organizational skills to multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Highly skilled in effective verbal and written communications

  • Ability to navigate through conflict resolution with diplomacy

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
