Are you looking to join a team that develops innovative systems that integrate advanced technologies in order to solve challenging national problems, while satisfying requirements and maximizing stakeholder value? The Draper National Security and Space SE Division is seeking a self-motivated Systems Engineer to perform key systems engineering tasks in an model-based environment. This involves applying systems engineering concepts to develop models and simulations to aid in the design, assessment, and analysis of complex military, space, intelligence, and autonomous systems.
The ideal candidate will be capable of working and communicating effectively with team members from various engineering disciplines, program management, and customers.
BS degree in engineering (Aerospace, ME, EE), Physics, or other relevant technical field of study
1+ years’ experience performing multiple SE tasks such as
stakeholder needs and use case analysis,
system architecting and conceptual design,
operational concept development,
requirements development, analysis, and management,
fault detection, isolation, and recover (FDIR) design,
V&V planning,
ICD development,
defining and managing technical (mass, power, error, etc.) budgets
risk management,
I&T planning and execution
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to customers, management, and technical personnel
Familiarity with INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook or other government or industry Systems Engineering standards
Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using SysML
Experience with the MagicDraw SysML modeling tool and related products (preferred), or other SysML modeling tools
Security Requirement: Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or degree in SE
Certification in MBSE and/or SysML
Experience with Human Systems Engineering (HSE)
Experience with DOORS requirements management tool
Experience with software architecting and requirements development
Familiarity with trade space exploration methods and tools
Task planning experience including use of EVMS, schedule development, and cost estimation
Experience in developing models and simulations using Matlab and Simulink
Experience modeling, simulating, or analyzing systems in the following domains: DoD weapons, GN&C, communications, spacecraft, unmanned underwater vessels (UUV), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)
