Position Summary

As an Information Specialist for Research BI&T, you will be responsible for managing and disseminating communications to our staff and BMS internal stakeholders. You will execute on our communications strategy by soliciting, packaging and amplifying information through existing and new channels. Additionally, you will seek out technology information from the Enterprise (largely BI&T, but also the application of technology in other business areas) and bring it to the attention of Research BI&T. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with technology, have a keen eye for design, be highly organized, and excel in networking and influencing. This role reports to the head of the Research BI&T Strategy, Culture and Operations group.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that Research BI&T communications effectively capture and amplify accomplishments and other information that our stakeholders need, have a consistent look and feel, and are disseminated through optimized channels in a timely manner.

  • Work with product teams and Research BI&T leadership to ensure that Research BI&T accomplishments are captured, tailored to the target audience, published and amplified through appropriate channels.

  • Prepare presenters by helping with story creation, material generation, rehearsals, best practices (Town Halls, Communities of Practice, Spotlight series, internal technical training).

  • Ensure communications have a common and visually appealing look and feel.

  • Identify new channels and improve on the effectiveness of existing channels.

  • Actively engage with other communications specialists within BI&T and Research to learn and share best practices relating to internal communications.

  • Bring information from Enterprise BI&T about new/improved technology to Research BI&T (via Working Smarter and other forums).

  • Organize and curate department sharepoint, MS teams channels, and calendar.

  • Establish and socialize best practices for Viva Engage, Teams, etc. postings.

  • Assess effectiveness of communications and refine strategies.

  • Work to timelines and with a sense of urgency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant experience

  • Proven experience in writing and publishing content efficiently and inclusively

  • Proficiency in layout and design, with strong technical skills

  • Expertise in Microsoft Suite of tools, including SharePoint, Viva Engage, and MS Teams

  • Experience with ChatGpT/Copilot

  • Strong soft skills, including networking, organization, energy, creativity, effective presentation skills, growth mindset, problem-solving, urgency, and excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with senior leadership

  • Experience with Jira

  • Knowledge of the life sciences domain

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $97,000-$129,000 , plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.

Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
