The Role:

The Head of Commercial Excellence for GTMC is leading a team overseeing and leading the GTMC Operations at a global level. The role is in charge of defining the strategy and implementation roadmap for the GTMC Hubs, as well as leading the Hub organization, creating first-class output during a period of a significant change. He/She will work closely with the unit part and guarantee the collaboration with the Hub commercial tower and transition teams to ensure intended outcomes are delivered while minimising disruption and maximising employee engagement and satisfaction.

He/She will work closely with the Head of GTMC to define and implement the first in class strategy for this organization, partnering with the pillar heads. To achieve best in class ambition, the role will drive engagement with internal stakeholders such as Global BU, MCO, and Country leadership to gauge feedback, impact, and identify areas of improvement potential across the department and to drive initiatives across the team to improve effectiveness and impact.

This role equally ensures continuous innovation across pillars to maximize synergies, co-designing and implementing a common new standard and ways of working. He/She is responsible for creating culture and capabilities, considering external landscape and a quickly changing business environment. This role is a change agent, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and role modelling forward thinking ideas and opening unique opportunities for teams to deliver impact. He/She is seen as a leader regarding knowledge sharing and innovative ideas.

He/She needs to have a high willingness to travel to India to make sure his/her presence is close to the hub organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Organization Design

  • Work closely with GTMC Head and Pillar Heads to define the vision, goals, and strategies to achieve first in class and excellence.

  • Capability Definition (e.g., Strategic Workforce planning with GTMC pillar heads).

  • Defines Hub strategy definition and strategy alignment to leadership team ensuring the right allocation of resources and prioritization.

  • Evaluate further re-internalisation opportunities from third party activities, leading through business case development and decision-making process, concluding in future transition roadmap.

  • Provide external best practices of GTMC organisations to align be always leading the path.

Hub Set Up & Operations (12-18 months)

  • Analysis of end-to-end processes, defining the Target Operating Model design and core models, including work placement decision criteria.

  • Oversee the transition planning and preparation, leading the ramp-up of hub operations in the respective hub locations.

  • Ensure robust knowledge documentation and transfer to guarantee business continuity.

  • Monitor transition progress, ensuring the department is operating efficiently and effectively and delivering on time within budget.

  • Create a One Sanofi feeling between Hub and the Unit, inspired and unified by Sanofi’s purpose to deliver best in class capabilities and attracting the right talent.

  • Monitor operational KPIs and adherence to core models to follow the new organisation’s progress.

Program Management

  • Champion project management discipline and provide the processes, structures, and tools to be adopted across GTMC.

  • Monitor and manage the cross-department operational activities and programs, ensuring the department operates efficiently and effectively and delivers on time within budget.

  • Define and implement efficient operating rigor and governance to enable agile and regular best practice sharing, encouraging transversal collaboration x-pillars.

  • Lead change management strategies in ways of working, organization structures, processes, technologies and in capabilities evolution to be a positive and engaging journey.

  • Implement an effective governance structure.

  • Define target KPIs for programme delivery, ensure benefits realisation mechanisms are in place.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional transformation teams (BOS, Medical, P&C, Country/MCO) to accelerate operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Given the transversal overview and knowledge this role implies, he/she needs to contribute to the stakeholder engagement plan building in close collaboration with the pillar heads.

  • Collaborate proactively with various departments and teams across Sanofi.

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure their active involvement in the initiatives.

  • Bring an outside-in perspective through regular external engagements and industry benchmarking.

  • Engage regularly with internal executive stakeholders to solicit input and feedback on performance across the department.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the creation of the new organisation and develop robust mitigation strategies early on.

  • Tracks issues, analyse root causes and implement action plans to improve where needed.

Leadership & Communication:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, being inspiring and motivate teams, attracting and retaining internal and external best talent.

  • Provide effective communication - to both senior leadership and employees.

  • Articulate a clear and compelling vision of change through use of evidence-based business cases.

  • Present at board level on strategy and regularly report progress (based on defined executive KPIs).

About you

  • Experience : Previous experience in Commercial in affiliates, in GBS industry and project and local / global transformation and change programs as well as leadership roles.Solid vendor management, continuous improvement and agile skills. Skills: Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills. Able to quickly establish credibility in complex, matrixed environment.Demonstrated ability to drive meaningful, sustainable business results.

  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership, third party partners and provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders.Recognized self-starter and leader.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Experience of embracing and delivering change.

  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English – second European language is a plus.
