Job Description
FISCAL OFFICER, Office of the Vice President for Climate (OVPC), to manage financial operations for the Climate Project at MIT (https://president.mit.edu/climate-project) , an ambitious new model of accelerated, university-led innovation that mobilizes disciplines around a mission-driven, solution-focused, global approach to the climate challenge. Will ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures and support strategic financial decision-making. Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; at least three years of experience in financial management, accounting, or related field, preferably in a complex organization or academic environment; comprehensive understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and accounting principles; proficiency with financial and reporting software applications (e.g., SAP, Brio, Cognos); advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel; excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights; ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization; meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity; ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and support for the mission and values of MIT.
