Summary:

Reporting directly into the Head of Marketing, this position will be responsible for key strategic and tactical elements of US commercialization activities for a rare autoimmune blood disorder therapy under development. The Director, US Hematology Marketing is expected to demonstrate sound Marketing fundamentals and possess strong experience launching specialty and/or rare disease products to multiple target audiences. This position will collaborate extensively with internal and external customers to ensure flawless execution of the US launch plan and drive alignment of resources and initiatives to achieve commercial objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead US marketing efforts to launch caplacizumab – 80%

  • Competencies and expectations associated with this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive the timely and strategically-aligned implementation of core elements of the caplacizumab launch plan

  • Liaise with agency of record to localize and deploy Global disease awareness and branded materials for HCPs and patients according to established timelines and budgets

  • Assess and validate brand fundamentals including segmentation, targeting, positioning, and messaging; ensure consistent pull-through via personal and non-personal promotion

  • Lead US brand plan development including budget and other financial forecasting requirements

  • Manage the caplacizumab marketing budget

  • Recommend and drive alignment of resources and initiatives to achieve short-term and long-term brand and franchise commercial objectives

  • Internal and external collaboration – 20%

  • Competencies and expectations associated with this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a patient-centric philosophy throughout all stages of product lifecycle and communication

  • Build a strong alliance with the Promotional Review Board to ensure all disease awareness and branded materials receive timely review

  • Build professional working relationships with key external customers, including thought leaders and patient advocacy groups

  • Work effectively within the established corporate and industry compliance guidelines

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field required; MBA preferred

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience

  • 5+ years of Marketing with 2 or more rare disease or specialty product launches

  • Demonstrated cross functional experience included but not limited to: Sales, Global Marketing, In-line Brand/Tactical Marketing, Market Research & Analytics, Market Access, Business Operations, and P&L Leadership

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and excellent financial, communication, and presentation skills

  • Detail-oriented self-starter capable of owning initiatives from beginning to end

  • High level of personal and professional integrity with strong work ethic

  • Sales experience a significant plus
