Microsoft Corporation Business Program Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Microsoft’s CO+I (Cloud Operations + Innovation) is the engine that powers our cloud services. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

We are responsible for designing, building, and operating our global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). As a successful Business Program Manager, your performance objectives will consist of:

  • Operating as part of a team performing IT Hardware production validation audits and performing escalation support for our global datacenter portfolio responsible for IT hardware quality and serviceability.

  • Bringing an exceptional ability to collaborate, openly communicate, present, and negotiate effectively across groups of various levels and disciplines including engineers, suppliers, partners, technicians, customers, etc.

  • Delivering results on multiple concurrent projects amidst ambiguous and changing business requirements, demonstrating a self-driven work ethic in our dynamic and high-pressure environment.

  • Applying your strategic thinking skills and self-driven desire for continuous learning to accumulate a deep understanding of industry & technological capabilities and demonstrating initiative in applying them to achieve business results.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • CollegeDegree or Technical College certification in or related to Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with writing: organizational standards, technical requirements and specifications, operating procedures, and technical notifications.

  • Availability to travel up to 15%.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience balancing competing concurrent demands for resources and adapting to changing priorities.

  • Experience operating in mission-critical, 24x7x365 production environments.

  • Applicable certifications: PMP/CAPM, ASQ, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications

  • Experience using IT hardware diagnostic tools and programs and related fault isolation methodologies.

  • Experience with FMEA, FA, 5 Why’s and other fault analysis methodologies.

  • Familiarity with supply chain and logistics process/procedure optimization and strategy for inventory and asset management effectiveness.
