Microsoft Corporation Business Program Manager - Readiness & Training in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Field Marketing Operations team within WW Marketing & Operations has an opening for a Sr. Business Program Manager. This person will be responsible for building a brand and program around how we onboard and continuously train hundreds of marketers globally on the proper ways to execute marketing tactics and deliver results through our Marketing Service Central (MSC) team. This role will interact with marketing subject matter experts on the programs and tactics needed to land at global scale, and with subject matter experts across our Global Demand Center (GDC) and Marketing Services Central (MSC) team to develop training and program guidance materials needed to keep marketing teams across the globe updated on the programs and core operational processes that power commercial marketing at Microsoft. This role is also responsible for managing a community of Operations Program Managers in the field. This community of 14 people will rely on you for guidance and troubleshooting across a myriad of topics, from operational capacity planning to new capability definition and issue triage and escalation. You will be responsible for defining the job descriptions and core responsibilities for the role, as well as participating in the interview process as these 14 geographic areas manage the function locally. A great candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills and be able to build support and alignment across organizations and functions across the company. You should excel at using PowerPoint to simplify concepts and express ideas and important details for audiences ranging from vendors to General Managers. A passion for teaching others and managing effective change is essential for success in this role.


Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop and create training curriculum and onboarding content for CMO Field marketing teams – both full-time employees (FTE) and covering multiple topics and programs by collaborating with subject matter experts

  • Create and maintain templates and brand standards for content in PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Dynamics Knowledge Management, aligned with Microsoft standards and key partner groups

  • Create a communications strategy for Field Marketing Operations and manage the process across functions

  • Partner with the Global Demand Center team on the maintenance of marketing guidance in the Modern Marketing Playbook (MMP)

  • Establish a new community for Operations Program Managers in the field, adhering to best practices and standards already in place for other field communities

  • Evolve the field marketing role definition and core priorities for Operations Program Managers and align with our commercial marketing strategy and other functional roles

  • Partner with stakeholders across Field Marketing Operations and Global Demand Center to inform and influence infrastructure decisions related to training and readiness materials.

  • Lead opportunities to rationalize Marketing Readiness content & simplify processes / accountability for maintaining content.

  • 5+ years of previous marketing experience, ideally in B2B

  • Demonstrated experience of delivering results through the collaborative work of a cross-functional team

  • Experience creating training materials from scratch and delivering results with a global set of stakeholders. Global program experience should include 2-3 fiscal lifecycles of execution and iterative improvement beyond program build and launch.

  • Proven experience working with cross-functional and international stakeholders and teams. Willingness to adapt work schedule to accommodate meetings with other time zones

  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and always changing environment

  • Ability to handle conflict and make trade-offs without sacrificing the long-term vision

  • Strong technical literacy, including Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, Dynamics and Teams.

  • Hands-on experience working in Microsoft-specific Marketing systems –Adobe, Certain, Dynamics 365, Marketo, On24, etc.
