About This Role:

The Benefits Specialist provides direction, guidance, and help to employees across the North America region. In partnership with the Total Rewards team, this role plays an important part in implementing and maintaining Forrester’s benefit strategy and the associated policies, procedures, and processes.

Job Description:

  • Researches, analyzes, evaluates, and administers North America corporate benefit plans and programs according to plan provisions and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including IRS, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Affordable Healthcare Act, etc.

  • Studies existing and new legislation, obtains qualified opinions, enforces adherence to requirements, and advises management on needed actions.

  • Advises employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters.

  • Assists with the annual open enrollment project and process including project planning, collaboration with vendors, communications and meetings, system configuration updates and testing, employee enrollment, post-enrollment audits, etc.

  • Reconciles and pays vendor invoices, maintains vendor payment and membership reports, and resolves any discrepancies

  • Reviews and may decide on appeals and escalated eligibility/enrollment issues.

  • Serves as primary day-to-day contact for third-party administrators.

  • Audits vendors and vendor systems to ensure compliance with plan structure and company policy and resolves discrepancies.

  • Troubleshoots issues and resolves problems related to the plans, eligibility, enrollment, systems, etc.

  • Develops, updates, reviews, and distributes print and electronic benefits communications.

  • Facilitates open enrollment meetings and new employee benefits orientation meetings.

  • Drives Forrester’s Well-Being initiatives focusing on promoting healthy employees and managing healthcare costs.

  • Leads in the development of benefit education programs designed to increase engagement and enhance the value of new and existing benefit programs.

  • Develops and analyzes reports as needed.

  • May provide additional support on an as-needed basis to other Total Rewards/HRIS team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Three-plus years of experience in working in HR with exposure to benefits.

  • Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • A working understanding of Workday (HRIS platform).

  • Detail and accuracy oriented.

  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Exceptional proofreading proficiency.

  • Goal-driven, organized, and multi-tasker.

  • The ability to work with limited supervision.
