    Job Description

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, LEADERSHIP ENGAGEMENT AND VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT, Resource Development, to strategize and work collaboratively with the senior director to lead and direct the engagement and management of high-level volunteers and members of the MIT Corporation. Will convene and work with advancement colleagues and with faculty, academic leadership, and senior administrators across MIT to develop strategies, scope projects, and define goals that engage, cultivate, and guide committee members to advocate for and realize MIT’s highest-priority fundraising goals and objectives; and partner on overseeing the Corporation Development Committee, a formal standing committee of the MIT Corporation.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least three years of relevant experience in a development operation; one year of supervisory experience; experience setting and implementing strategy, including establishing and meeting goals and priorities; excellent planning, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, decision-making, interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and communication (written, verbal, listening) skills; meticulous attention to detail; flexibility; excellent judgment with confidential information; proficiency with technology, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom; ability to learn, adopt, and become proficient in new technologies and systems as needed; and support for MIT’s commitment to advancement and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Must be able to analyze, synthesize, and present information; engage and build relationships with colleagues, leadership, faculty, volunteers, donors, and other external constituents; multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality in a demanding, high-volume work environment; take initiative and anticipate consequences of action, potential problems, or opportunities for change; and work effectively under pressure. This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
