  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and frameworks.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and data visualization skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Provides overall subject matter expertise in business operations and related system support/development.

  • Maintains technical documentation of processes and procedures.

  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Knowledge of business operations, processes, and key performance indicators.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Information:This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you will be required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus 2 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.

Position Description:

  • Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations. Apply statistical techniques, data mining algorithms, and predictive modeling to extract meaningful insights to support External Relations (ER) staff in data-driven decision making and reviews performance measures for short- and long-term fundraising strategies.

  • Business Intelligence: Develop custom descriptive and predictive scoring models that will allow enhanced priority specific identification and segmentation of the alumni, donor, and prospect base to support the development of short- and long-term engagement and fundraising strategies.

  • Predictive Analytics: Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to forecast business outcomes, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for growth. Provide recommendations to staff and fundraisers for how to interpret, understand, and apply scoring in various fundraising activities.

  • Data Visualization and Reporting: Communicate insights effectively through data visualizations, dashboards, and reports. Present findings to stakeholders, including senior leaders, and other relevant teams, to advise on the creation of metrics to determine organizational effectiveness.

  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product managers, and engineers, to identify business challenges and develop data-driven solutions. Provide analytical support and guidance in defining business strategies and initiatives.

  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data science and business intelligence. Continuously enhance skills in areas such as machine learning, data visualization, and statistical analysis.

The ER Business Intelligence team collaborates with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges. The BI team designs intuitive and visually appealing dashboards and reports that present complex data in an easily understandable manner. Who We Are Looking For

As a member of the Business Intelligence team for ER, the Associate Director of Business Analytics focuses on developing insights and understanding of business performance based on data and statistical methods to drive decision making. Understanding trends and what will happen next will help inform operations and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of fundraising, prospect management, and alumni engagement activities.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with creative and critical thinking, excellent problem-solving skills, experience with in-depth analysis of complex data sets, and solid background in various technologies to join our team. In this role, you will be working with Senior Director and Director of ER Technology, leveraging data analysis and statistical modeling techniques to derive valuable insights and drive data-driven decision-making within the organization. You will play a crucial role in assisting the company in identifying opportunities for growth, optimizing operational processes, and improving overall business performance.
