Position Description
Harvard Divinity School seeks an adjunct instructor in Pali Language Studies in the spring semester of the academic year 2024-25 to teach the second semester of the first-year course in Elementary Pali. The title of the position will depend on the academic qualifications of the finalist.
The course is scheduled to meet (in person) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-10 a.m. each day on the HDS campus during the spring semester.
A current curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and one or two previous course evaluation sets are required of all candidates.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications:
(1) satisfactory progress toward an advanced degree in a related field,
(2) accredited history of extensive Pali language study, and
(3) experience in teaching Pali at the college and/or graduate level of instruction.

PLEASE NOTE : This is not a benefits-eligible position. This position will be based in Cambridge, MA, and the instruction will take place in person on our campus in Cambridge, MA. Finalists are expected to reside in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, California (exempt staff only), Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia, and Washington).
