Superpedestrian Accountant/Sr. Accountant, International in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Superpedestrian is looking for an experienced accountant/senior accountant to oversee international accounting activities. The successful candidate provides accounting and financial oversight for our international entities, and is responsible for complete and accurate accounting and financial reporting for multiple legal entities.
This person will be a high-profile business partner for Market Operations, Supply Chain, Business Development and Human Resources. They will be responsible for setting up and maintaining new legal entities and business processes.
What you?ll do:
Manage the financial close process for Superpedestrian?s international entities (Netherlands, Italy, Spain, UK)
Act as a key point of contact to and drive deadlines with in-country accounting firms.
Research accounting guidance in each company we operate in. Develop policies and procedures that are aligned to U.S. GAAP requirements.
Understand foreign currency requirements and tax regulations.
Review statutory financial reports and accounts and bridge statutory financial and tax books to U.S. GAAP. Assist with consolidation of financial reporting US entity.
Ensure all key internal controls over operations and financial reporting are in place and operating in accordance with relevant rules and regulations
Review all monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all international entities into the Accounting System to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Manage all lease agreements and other financial commitments for international entities and ensure that all terms are properly accounted for
Assist with year end audit requests from external auditors on matters related to international accounting and reporting as well as assist with international regulatory compliance
Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns collaborating closely with international tax reporting advisors
What you?ll bring:
2 - 5 years of accounting experience with managerial experience in a multi-country/ multi-currency environment
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting required; CPA (or on the CPA path) a plus
Strong U.S. GAAP experience required, IFRS experience a plus
Expertise in international reporting, including but not limited to transfer pricing, VAT/GST accounting, income tax withholding
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and levels, both within the accounting function and across the company holistically
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to link information together
Proficient at streamlining, improving and automating processes
Strong attention to detail and the ability to project manage complex tasks (entity formation, etc.)
Must be adaptable and willing to multi-task and handle additional responsibilities as needed while meeting deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Conditional formulas)
Experience with QuickBooks
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
