Job Description
ACCESS SERVICES ASSOCIATE-HAYDEN LIBRARY, Libraries, to work in a dynamic library setting, assisting with circulation, service desk operations, and physical space management; will help patrons access library resources, troubleshoot equipment, and interpret policies; supervise student employees, approve timesheets, and develop training materials; search for books, shelve, process materials, and contribute to service improvements; plan new services, handle financial transactions, and work on local committees and projects. Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or equivalent; minimum two years of relevant experience, including work with library systems and/or cataloging standards; ability to lift 40 pounds, push/pull carts up to 150 pounds, move boxes, and tolerate exposure to dust; proficiency with MS Office Suite, email, and calendar software; ability to learn new systems and technology; robust interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure; demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse community and solid problem-solving skills. PREFERRED: experience in academic or research libraries, customer service, and training or supervising others; familiarity with Aleph ILS; bachelor’s degree. Job #24400-5
Hourly range: $24.49 - $34.38 - $44.27, salary based on qualifications and experience This is a union position. Employees are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the MIT Libraries and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 93.
