Utility Technicians are needed for a leading water utility near Cape Cod, MA. The Utility Technicians are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems. This includes inspecting, repairing, and certifying various system assets while providing essential customer support.

The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of safety practices for water and wastewater system operations, proficiency in operating heavy machinery and equipment, strong communication skills, effective utilization of Microsoft Office software, and a minimum of 2+ years of related utility or maintenance technician experience in the water or wastewater industry. This is a direct-hire role, and some relocation can be considered for qualified candidates.

responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections, installations, repairs, and replacements of water mains, sewer lines, and related assets

• Respond promptly to service orders and customer inquiries, ensuring professional interactions

• Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks and backhoes, for maintenance tasks

• Analyze pump equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and monitor water supply operations

• Implement and update system flushing, cross-connection control, and spill response programs

• Provide leadership to Utility Technicians, delegating tasks and ensuring adherence to safety standards
