Massachusetts Maritime Academy Staff Associate/Assistant Football Coach in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Massachusetts Maritime Academy Athletics Department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our football program in a Coordinator role with additional responsibilities for recruitment and athlete retention. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will play a pivotal role in developing our student-athletes both on and off the field, fostering a culture of excellence, and maintaining a high level of competitive success. The Assistant Football Coach for Recruitment and Retention will: Collaborate with the Head Coach to coordinate all aspects of practice, player development, and in-game strategy. Evaluate talent through scouting, film analysis, and in-person visits to identify potential recruits. Communicate effectively with recruits and their families to provide information about the Academy and our admissions process. Participate in recruiting events, camps, and showcases to highlight the football program. Execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy to attract top-tier student-athletes to the program. Establish and maintain relationships with high school coaches and prospective student-athletes. Provide academic and personal support to student-athletes to ensure their success. Create a safe, organized and motivating environment overseeing the weight room; enforce regulations and perform regular equipment checks and inventory. Collaborate with the Event Management department to coordinate athletic camps on campus. Serve as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the provisions of the Clery Act. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree. Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level. Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Strong understanding of NCAA Division Ill regulations related to recruitment and eligibility. Strong knowledge of football strategies, tactics, and NCAA Football rules. Ability and willingness to travel to locations inside and outside of New England for recruiting visits. Ability to clearly communicate and display data on recruiting activities in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice, film sessions, recruiting and competitions. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous development and/or the modeling of inclusive behaviors. Master\'s degree is preferred. Proven track record of success as a coordinator or similar role. Experience in recruiting and advising student-athletes, preferably at the collegiate level. Experience or familiarity with academic advising or education. Experience using Front Rush, Ellucian Recruit, Slate or other Recruiting CRMs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Salary: \$60,000 to \$63,000 The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under the FLSA.
