Job Description:

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Radiology and the Director of Radiology Informatics is responsible for the planning and management of Radiology Informatics clinical and technological projects. Responsibilities include management of and process optimization for the support teams that provide end user support in the, installation, integration, service, maintenance and QA/QC of assigned Radiology equipment and Radiology Informatics Systems and Workstations at all hospital and clinic locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Manages the support teams that provide 24/7/365, rapid response, hardware & software support as needed for the following assigned Radiology & Radiology Informatics systems & services:

Radiology Informatics Servers / SAN’s / Archives hardware administration, maintenance, repair & support services.

Radiology Informatics application administration and end user training & support services

Modality integration support services.

PACS Workstation design, procurement, assembly, configuration, site prep, deployment, maintenance, calibration & repair services.

Radiology modality & peripheral device 1st call maintenance & repair services for all CR, DR, Digitizer, Laser Printer, CD Burner and CD Import devices.

Radiology Helpdesk services.

Teleradiology site support services.

Home User hardware and application support services

Designs, implements & monitors Radiology Informatics routine maintenance and calibration programs.

Collaborates in Radiology Informatics system planning and design.

Manages the Radiology Helpdesk hardware, software application and helpdesk support staff.

Provides project management for Radiology Informatics initiatives.

Monitors the progress of Radiology Informatics Projects to ensure that schedules and budget objectives are achieved.

Works collaboratively with project stakeholders to satisfy primary objectives and minimize project scope creep.

Leads teams on process optimization initiatives related to Radiology Informatics Systems.

Coordinates vendor service contracts and warranty services.

Leads product and application upgrade verification & validation planning and testing.

Escalates and advocates for informatics system and user support issues.

Interviews, reviews and approves personnel hires.

Prepares departmental budget,pPerformance analysis & variance reporting.

Documents and communicates specific issues identified by clinical users with respect to service issues, updates, progress and resolution.

Monitors clinical workflow procedures and makes recommendations for improvement.

Serves as Radiology Informatics liaison to hospital, clinical & technical departments.

Is available for emergency telephone and on site response 24/7/365.

Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

Active driver’s license

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

.

Extensive knowledge of Radiology & Clinical Workflow.

Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DICOM & HL7 communication and troubleshooting techniques.

Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills.

Keyboarding Skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory/management role in a clinical IT setting that includes the following:

management of support teams providing CR/DR equipment troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, calibration and the required documentation management of training program development for support staff & users of all experience levels, including support staff training in radiographic safety, technique calculation & exposure. management of support teams providing PC troubleshooting, repair & maintenance, computer monitor calibration and Radiology Informatics Systems specification and installation

Experience with LAN / WAN concept and design.

Experience with SAN / NAS storage concept and design.

Experience with EMC, Brocade or other SAN/NAS products.
