Job Requirements:

Analyses, originates and monitors larger loans and/or supports a growing Region or a Region with more complex relationships and transactions

Develops commercial business generally of moderate size and complexity as defined by the organization

Achieves growth goals (loans, deposits, fees), both individually and assisting the team, through development of new Healthcare Customers and cross selling existing Customers as well as development of an external referral network

Increases education of the Healthcare Professionals program throughout the TD Store and Relationship Manager network

Works with Head of Healthcare Practice Solutions Group and Credit Teams to ensure customers are getting the proper lending answers and turnaround times needed

Works with TD Regional team and Healthcare customers as necessary on individual transactions to identify specific needs and communicate structure

Drives trade show and Healthcare equipment distributors sales efforts to drive growth in all our segments for the footprint

Is accountable for overall Regional Healthcare loan portfolio performance (profitability to plan, delinquencies, losses)

Identifies Healthcare Sales and Product Training and Development needs for regional team (RMLMs/RMs and Store Managers)

Collaborates with Regional Leadership to identify specialists in their geographic areas to be able to maximize leverage of this plan

Assists with issue resolution related to credit support and product partners as appropriate

Ensures that Small Business & Regional Commercial Healthcare operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals) and the appropriate escalation processes are followed. Identifies, mitigates and reports on risk, compliance and regulatory issues per policy and guidelines.

Validates that we are Wowing customers with our competitive product set, relationship management skills, service

Verifies that individual transactions are being structured and serviced appropriately in the Healthcare segment

Collaborates with Regional team, Portfolio Management, Collections, and Workout to provide proper monitoring of Healthcare portfolio including Performance, Renewals, Exceptions and Documentation

Assists RMLMs/RMs and RVPs with SBB & RCB Healthcare deal structures to comply with our policy prescriptions

Continually educates the Regional bank on the special lending elements of the Specialty Healthcare program

Provides leadership for training, business development and small business product development

Drives SB & RCB Healthcare segments to drive growth around Loan and Deposit budget goals

Reviews incomplete apps and develop strategies for improvement

Understands credit policy and work with Credit teams on proper loan structuring

Works with Credit Risk, Risk Management,and Small Business & RCB line management to monitor loan performance, approval rates, exception rates and recommend appropriate modifications to Small Business Credit Policy and processes to support the Healthcare segment

Exhibits leadership competencies, collaboration, flexibility, influence, innovative, creativity, integrity and passion.

Multi-tasks in a fast paced sales environment

Negotiates, manages relationships and influences across Business lines

Originates volumes of $10MM + deals

The Healthcare Specialist BDO (Business Development Officer) is responsible for driving consistent customer experiences in both the regional commercial and small business platforms for our targeted Healthcare segment (Physicians, Dentists, Vets, Optometrist, Podiatrists) via disciplined sales and service processes throughout the TD Footprint and between functional groups.

Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree required

10+ years of related experience required

Healthcare industry experience (5+ years) required

Sales leadership experience required

Proven business development track record required

Strong understanding of commercial business development techniques and credit decisions

Strong market presence with wide network of outside referral sources for new business

Strong credit and financial analysis skills

Refined negotiation skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Project management skills with ability to influence at all levels
