Tufts Medicine Epic HB/PB Expected Reimbursement Build Analyst - Remote in Burlington, Massachusetts

100% Remote

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Client Applications Support duties: Designs, develops, implements, and updates internal IT applications in accordance with specifications and business needs., designs, codes, tests, and debugs computer programs, and prepares systems documentation and training. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. An experienced level role that applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Works independently with general supervision, problems faced are difficult but typically not complex, and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the construction, development, testing, implementing, and supporting the expected reimbursement contracts within Epic Resolute Billing in a real-time environment with claims in either the HB and/or PB billing modules. Act as reimbursement subject matter expert, responsible for resolving complex issues, overseeing intricate design and build challenges, and supporting department goals and strategies. Work collaboratively with all organizational staff, outside software vendors, and consultants in accomplishing assigned work.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.

  2. Four (4) years of EPIC experience in healthcare IT or Finance.

  3. EPIC Resolute Certification.

  4. EPIC HB or PB Contract Build Certification.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and monitoring of expected reimbursement interfaces.

  2. Act as a subject matter expert in integration. Responsible for resolving complex issues, overseeing intricate design and build challenges, and to support department goals and strategies.

  3. Act as technical liaison between vendors, analysts, management, and end-users on integration projects.

  4. Provide integration/interface recommendations for managers, as needed.

  5. Perform interface engine upgrades.

  6. Collaborate with team to complete work related to system integration and health information exchange.

  7. Provide primary on-call support for interface errors (interface engine or FTP-related).

  8. Oversee the implementation of file transfers using our FTP platforms.

  9. Serve as a member of the technical teams in Information Services, collaborating with technical resources as well as business analysts to meet hospital needs.

  10. Work collaboratively with others in meeting user expectations and team deadlines.

  11. Write medium-to-complex code.

  12. Participate in test case scenarios and live support.

  13. Monitor adherence to established organizational and IT policies and procedures. Comply with privacy and security controls and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Frequent sitting, occasional standing & walking, and lifting of 5-10 lbs.

  2. Mental requirements will be intense at times with involvement in many concurrent multi-faceted projects.

  3. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate a computer keyboard or related equipment.

  4. Requires ability to see computer screen, monitoring equipment and reports.

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Ability to rightly prioritize work, survey resources, develop and choose options, implement change and deduce future needs from available information.

  2. Ability to develop or support data interfaces and programs.

  3. Highly skilled in relevant IT programming language, databases design tools and standard office software applications a must (e.g. Microsoft).

  4. Expert-level knowledge of report writing tools including Microsoft Office.

  5. General knowledge of current technological and healthcare related trends and developments in health care integration.

  6. Skills in developing and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships, including persuasion, negotiation, gaining support and eliciting information.

  7. Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, and subordinates.

  8. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.

  9. Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.

  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  11. Problem-solving skills within team environment and with end users.
