Eliot Community Human Services BI Relief Staff in Burlington, Massachusetts

Locations: Burlington, Haverhill

Are you looking for extra income and does your schedule have flexibility? Eliot is looking for relief staff to work in their Brain Injury Division to support programs when permanent staff are on vacation, call in sick or have planned leaves. The ideal candidate will have experience working side by side individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities.

Eliot’s Brain Injury Division are focused on individual-centered continuum of services that provides innovative and high quality programming to adults with developmental disabilities. The programs offer support and opportunities for individuals to enrich their lives, develop personal skills and competencies, and enjoy a full range of community activities while developing a network of caring relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day to day operations of a group home for individuals with brain injury.

  • Provide a safe living environment for all individuals, implement crisis intervention as necessary. I

  • Write/ maintain all documentation, related to individuals’ treatment plans and program operations in an organized and timely manner as specified by both Agency and DDS/MRC and ABI waiver policy and regulations.

  • Assist individuals in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and reducing stigma within the community through education.

  • Ensure individuals are free from neglect and abuse. Report all concerns/suspicions of abuse/ neglect to supervisor and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission.

    Qualifications

  • High School diploma and one year experience working with intellectually disabled or brain injured adults.

  • Ability to advocate for community supports and services on behalf of the individuals.

  • Ability to identify effective strategies to address clinical issues/events. Ability to use good judgment and work with minimal supervision.

  • Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications required

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule contingent upon program needs.

  • Ability to physically carry out Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques
