Brockton Hospital Vascular Technologist in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Technical Director of the Vascular Laboratory accurately conducts a variety of studies for the evaluation of vascular disorders utilizing duplex ultrasound and physiological testing. Accurately maintains permanent images that are organized and collected as relevant information to be used for final interpretation.

This is a per diem position.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a team member. Meets daily productivity standards while effectively adapting to change or unusual circumstances.

  • Demonstrates competency in performing a variety of tests and studies to determine the presence and evaluate vascular disorders, according to established department guidelines specific to age of patient served.

  • Accurately maintains department database.

  • Follows all guidelines as detailed in hospital and departmental manuals.

  • Accurately communicates preliminary reports to physician and nursing.

  • Attends department meetings and participates in organizational goals.

  • Maintains equipment and testing areas are in clean and orderly condition.

  • Keeps current in field through seminars, journals, etc.

  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

  • Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).

  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of purposes and functional capacity of equipment.

  • Demonstrates a good understanding of pathophysiology, hemodynamics, and imaging of vascular structures from all types of vascular beds being examined.

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

    I. Education: High school diploma required. A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a health related field. Graduate of a diagnostic ultrasound school or sufficient on the job training in vascular technology

    II. Experience (Type & Length): At least three (3) years of experience in vascular imaging and physiological testing.

    III. Certification/Licensure: Certification in Vascular ultrasound, RVT preferred. Registered by ARDMS or CCI
