Under the direction of the Manager, Diagnostic Radiology performs mammographic examinations in accordance with established policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations. Generally establishes own work plan and priorities, using and/or modifying standard procedures, to assure timely completion of assigned work in conformance with department policies and practices; problems lacking clear precedent are usually reviewed with supervisor prior to taking action. Reports any malfunctions immediately to Director. Directly oversees and supervises mammography staff. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of specialized training equivalent to an Associate's Degree at an AMA approved school of radiological technology required. Current Massachusetts license to practice as a radiological technologist required. Current A.R.R.T. certification required. Advanced certification in mammography required. Six to nine months of additional Radiologic technologist experience, beyond formal training program, to become proficient in all phases of assigned duties. Supervisory experience preferred.
