Brockton Hospital Radiology Patient Access Representative in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:
The radiology patient access rep performs a wide variety of detail-oriented duties in the process of arriving and registering patients in the radiology dept.
Location: 680 Centre Street, Brockton, MA
Department: Radiology
This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position. Alternating holidays and weekends.
Responsibilities:
May be called upon to schedule patient appointments.
Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and is self-motivated.
Checks for payers’ prior-authorization requirements, validates active coverage. Manages incoming phone calls in a positive professional manner.
Schedules appointments for imaging and other procedures as assigned.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:
The duties require knowledge of procedures and policies related to the Radiology Department and functions as a team player.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands.
Must have excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:
Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1 year experience in medical or customer service working environment, radiology experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure: N/A
Software/Hardware: Nextbar, Evicore and Meditech experience preferred.
