Brockton Hospital Manager, Physician Recruitment in Brockton, Massachusetts

The Physician Recruitment Manager manages and implements all activities for the recruitment and hiring of primary care physicians, specialty care physicians, and midlevel practitioners for Signature Healthcare. This position advises and collaborates with Human Resources, senior management and medical leadership with regard to provider recruitment, staffing budget, hiring strategies, interviewing techniques and selection.

Manages the entire employment process from offer and acceptance through commencement of employment . Oversees physician facility/community site visits and works with Fellowship and Residency programs to build relationships with the residency programs conducive to the clinical needs at Signature Healthcare. Generally , establishes own priorities within established guidelines, policies, and procedures . Discusses unusual issues with and refers problems requiring exception to policy to Chief of HR, Physician Chiefs and/or SMG Medical Leadership.

  • Develop s , plan s and implement s all methods to generate candidates, including national/local/Internet advertising, direct mail, resident-related events and activities, marketing and promotional materials, and website development and maintenance . Develop s and maintain s the provider on-line application system and process.

  • Works collaboratively with medical leadership, physicians, and senior management to represent practice opportunities accurately.

  • Maintains data on current practice opportunities for all open positions and establishes staffing priorities.

  • Manages aspects of the interview process up to and including ensuring the contract is complete, accurate and closure is obtained . Works with the Physician Recruitment Specialist on ensuring the needs of the candidate and chiefs are met for interview process and initial on boarding tasks . Works actively with the On - boarding Committee to ensure process flows efficiently and in accordance with the On-Boarding Job Breakdown Sheet

  • Actively participates in all Lean Education and Continuous improvement work to integrate lean methodology into the daily work patterns of this role and supporting work.

  • Determines marketing & recruiting approaches through recruitment planning

  • Works with the appropriate individuals to update local physician websites and other collateral materials utilized for physician recruitment.

  • Identifies candidates via social media, relationships with fellowship programs, professional societies, cold calling, Internet, journals, and various databases.

  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of Signature Healthcare’s culture and the surrounding community to effectively market opportunities to potential candidates.

  • Facilitates the on-site visit of potential candidates and families to achieve effective exposure to Signature Healthcare, practice opportunities, and the surrounding community, including preparing itineraries, and arrangements for travel, lodging, and meals.

  • Provides in-depth tour of Signature Healthcare, Signature Medical Group ambulatory work locations. Escorts candidates through interview process . Meets with candidate at end of the day to get feedback from candidate.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all aspects of physician employment, including employment agreements and process, offer packages, and compensation and benefits.

  • Builds relationships with Residency and Fellowship programs and make those residents aware of practice opportunities.

  • Builds relationships with area practices and preparing recruits for smooth transitions into their new role.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form .

  • Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.

  • Must effectively work and communicate with all disciplines and levels of professionals.

  • Must possess demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, in the English language .

  • Familiarity with a hospital and ambulatory clinical specialties and environment, experience with social media recruiting and challenging search requirements.

  • Knowledge of applicable legal requirements .

  • Must possess demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and handle widely varied responsibilities .

    Education/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or related healthcare background, demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills, strong organizational and complex process management abilities

  • Experience (Type & Length): Five to seven years ’ direct experience required with physician recruiting including current sourcing strategies, clinical skill sets and physician recruitment expectations.

  • Certification/Licensure:

  • Software/Hardware: Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Other: Multi-lingual skills desirable . Position requires some travel using own vehicle.
