POSITION: Employment Specialist PROGRAM: Housing and Economic Security HOURS: Full time, 35 hours per week or Part-time 20 hours per week SALARY: \$28.10/hr LOCATION: Wrentham & Brockton BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403b Retirement Plan, Employee Assistance Program, etc. DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Employment Coordinator the Employment Specialist will provide overall support to participants through the Pathways to Power Workforce Economic Empowerment Program. This program assists participants recovering from domestic violence and sexual exploitation, by providing job readiness services and job placement. Provide career counseling to participants to help them identify potential career paths. Network within the business community to establish partnerships with local employers who will hire program participants. Ensure that participants? choices, interests, and needs are supported and facilitated when planning and coordinating employment activities. Outreach, recruit, and onboard career panelists from partner organizations; facilitate panel and coordinate day of events. Develop and maintain a database of outreach contacts including community partners, alumni, and panel speakers. Developed monthly alumni gatherings to promote community; invite alumni to events by email and reminder calls/text. Contributed to program design, lesson planning, and program evaluation. Utilize curriculum, assistive technology, and provide accommodations as appropriate for each participant. Assist participant throughout all phases of employment including career exploration, resume writing, job seeking, interviewing, & employment coaching. Establish trust with program participants and conduct comprehensive intakes to understand their needs, strengths, interests, aptitudes, experiences, and capabilities. Meet with each participant at least once a month to document progress toward their goals and ensure they are clear on program requirements. Work closely with the Sanctuary Place Manager & case managers to communicate needs and ensure continuity of services. Attend staff and agency meetings as required. Any other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain an intense sense of urgency. Strong networking and presentation abilities, collaboration, and teamwork focus. Minimum, 3 years of experience. Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of human trafficking preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated successes in program development for diverse clients. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Initiative-taker with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience working with survivors of gender-based violence and exploitation; Lived experience as a survivor of sexual exploitation preferred; Understanding of both interpersonal and structural racism and bias.
