Robert Half Accounting Manager in Brockton, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for the role of Accounting Manager in the telecom provider industry, based in Brockton, Massachusetts, 02301, United States. As an Accounting Manager, you would be responsible for managing and overseeing daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and grants accounting. You would also be tasked with maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and grants accounting.

• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

• Review chart of account structures and accuracy of expense allocations to accounts. Recommend expense allocation to the chart of accounts that will capture the nature of the expenses in the proper area.

• Prepare, verify, and control the entering of journal entries to the general ledger.

• Maintain and/or evaluate accounting of all asset and liability accounts.

• Coordinate monthly closing and prepare financial statements ensuring timely and accurate reporting of monthly activities. Assist in the analysis of variance between actual expenses to budget.

• Analyze, report, and interpret accounting information to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

• Reconcile monthly bank statements.

• Assist with coordinating any physical inventories and review for accuracy.

• Oversee the billing of grants and contracts and ensure all reporting requirements for grants and contracts are met.

• Oversee the Accounts Payable department.

• Assist in preparation of all third-party cost reports.

• Assist in the development of the annual budget of the organization, as well as, the budgets required for each grant and contract.

• Assist Controller and independent auditors in the annual year-end audit. Requirements • Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge and experience in ADP - Financial Services

• Capable of handling ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tasks

• Familiar with ERP Solutions

• Experienced in using Great Plains (GPAC)

• Skilled in executing Accounting Functions

• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledgeable in Auditing practices

• Able to execute Billing Functions efficiently

• Has experience in using Blackbaud software
