How you make a difference

As a Training Administrator, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of internal and external training programs for staff. You will design and deliver various training formats, including classroom, practical application, and supervised on-the-job training, to achieve specific contract and organizational learning objectives. Additionally, you may be required to develop curriculum to meet the needs of the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements training programs to meet specific contract and organizational learning objectives, identifying facility training needs and investigating available training methods and procedures.

  • Coordinates with management to design and develop new employee orientation, pre-service, on-the-job, in-service specialized, contractor, and volunteer training, and manages theworkflowand identifies and trains part-time/resource trainers to provide supplemental or support instruction.

  • Administers training programs by coordinating and instructing (or obtaining the instruction) for all personnel, contractors, and volunteers, documenting employee training hours, and ensuring that all employees, volunteers, and contractors attend training sessions based on contractual and/or organizational policies.

  • Maintains training records, monitors progress and performance, and advises employees of recertification deadlines to ensure that certification remains current to client agency requirements.

  • May manage the work of other employees and supervise and evaluate the performance of trainees, part-time/resource trainers, and Field Training Officers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Bachelor’s degree in training, organizational development, communication, related field highly desired.

Experience

  • (5) years progressive work experience in the field of hospital, corrections, or law enforcement required. Must meet or exceed all standards and qualifications required by contracting agency for Training Officers.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certification as training instructor from a national or state recognized organization such as the National Institute of Corrections within 180 days of appointment to the position may be required of the position.
