How you make a difference

As a Chaplain, you'll spearhead the coordination of religious, spiritual, and volunteer initiatives within the facility, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for all residents. Your role involves meticulous scheduling and facilitation to ensure the smooth execution of various programs, fostering a sense of community and well-being among residents and staff alike. Through your dedication, you'll provide vital spiritual and emotional support, enriching the lives of those under your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to residents, addressing personal, family, and spiritual issues, while conducting counseling sessions for residents, family members, and staff.

  • Oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of all religious programs and volunteer services, including the selection, approval, and training of volunteers, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

  • Conduct worship services, sacramental observations, and religious educational programs for residents, as well as develop orientation programs for newly-arrived residents to familiarize them with available religious services.

  • Maintain relationships with community religious resources, approving donations for religious programs, while ensuring equal status and protection for all religions within the facility.

  • Regularly visit resident living areas or hospitals as needed, maintaining attendance and confidential records to support the spiritual well-being of the community.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree of divinity.

Experience

  • Ordained or community faith supported

  • In good standing with faith group

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in providing clinical pastoral education.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Properly credentialed to conduct religious services according to the teaching of his/her particular religion or denomination.

  • Must have current ecclesiastical endorsement by appropriate religious certifying body.

  • Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent specialized training required.
