Fortive Corporation Quality Manager in Boxborough, Massachusetts

The Quality Manager serves as a key leadership role to oversee Dover’s Quality Management System (QMS). This leadership position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on compliance, process, a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent collaboration skills across functions, and proficiency in implementing new processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, revision, and alignment of the Quality Management System (QMS) through meets regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

  • Serve as the Management Representative for ISO certifications and regulatory audits.

  • Coordinate internal audits, manage audit findings, and drive corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement of QMS processes and procedures.

  • Manage internal and external quality issues:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality issues, investigating root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives via FMEA, Six Sigma methodologies to identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Implement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and optimize efficiency.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, REACH, RoHS, etc.).

  • Develop and maintain compliance strategies and documentation.

  • Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to integrate quality requirements into product development and manufacturing processes.

  • Foster a collaborative environment to drive quality improvements and achieve organizational goals.

  • Lead the implementation of new quality processes and procedures.

  • Promote a culture of quality and ownership:

  • Promote a quality-focused culture across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in a Quality Management role, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated industry.

  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), regulatory standards (ISO, FDA, etc.), and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, CAPA).

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.

  • Detail-oriented and process-driven, with a demonstrated ability to implement new processes and drive continuous improvement.

  • Certification as a Quality Auditor (CQA) or Quality Engineer (CQE) is desirable.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software applications.

Travel:

  • <5% of overnight travel required for the position.
