Humana Vendor Management Specialist 3 in Boston, Massachusetts


The Vendor Management Specialist 3 works as liaison between vendors and organization. The Vendor Management Specialist 3 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.


Schedule : 2:30PM to 11:00PM EST

The Vendor Management Specialist 3 communicates with vendors to regarding day-to-day matters. Builds and maintains positive relationship with vendors and monitor vendor performance. Researches invoice and contractual issues and resolve discrepancies. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. Collaborates as a partner within a strong team environment.

  • Observe and listen to advocate calls and make recommendations for process and member experience improvements, identify advocate areas of opportunities and compliance issues

  • Assist on projects within department that lead to process improvement utilizing analytics and reporting

  • Assist with the creation and revamping of campaigns

  • Assist with identifying advocate training opportunities

  • Create/revamp various reports/tools/analytics utilizing various

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • 1 year experience within a production environment

  • Progressive operational experience

  • Leadership experience over a large metric-intensive operational unit

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong facilitation skills

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

  • Some experience manipulating/pulling data utilizing various technological tools (i.e. Excel, Access, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI) and creating reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Certification with Six Sigma and/or the Project Management Institute

  • Prior experience in a healthcare or insurance setting

  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage

  • Grievance and Appeals experience

  • Documentation experience (i.e. Mentor documentation, training documentation)
