Position Summary
This key position is primarily responsible for escorting guests with accuracy and warmth to their assigned seats, as well as assisting with venue set up and break down.
Minimum Qualifications
● Strong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guest service skills
● Preferably 1+ years as an usher, ticket-taker, host, or similar role in a fast-paced, high-volume entertainment and service environment
● Ability to provide positive guest experiences through the lens of hospitality at all times
● Ability to navigate music venue conditions, including tight spaces, dark rooms, and loud environments
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships with guests and coworkers
● Creative problem solving skills, and the ability to think on your feet
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-faceted team
● Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
● Ability to perform physical requirements of the role including, but not limited to: standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds
Overview of Responsibilities
● Appropriately check guests in upon entrance to the establishment utilizing proper check-in systems and standards
● Greet guests with warmth and hospitality immediately upon entry, serving as brand ambassador for City Winery
● Upholding seating accuracy by repeating the seat numbers relayed to them by the concierge and circle them on their floor plan to be turned in at the end of their shift
● Monitoring the crowd throughout the duration of the event, including standing by major walk-ways, entries, and exits, and directing guests as needed
● Support retail merchandise needs, and direct guests interested in retail merchandise to the designated retail representative and/or concierge for purchases
● Assisting in venue set up and break down as directed by management
● Assisting with any other front door duties that management requests assistance with within a reasonable scope of that usher’s training and experience
● Alerting concierge or management to any guest concerns or dissatisfaction
● Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines including being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform
● Actively support concierge duties as needed
● Perform all other reasonably assigned duties
