Commonwealth Care Alliance Temporary Payroll Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts
Why This Role is Important to Us:
The position supports Payroll Manager. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interoffice and client contact and interaction. Payroll and accounting experience and accuracy are essential along with good organization skill, goal orientation, a team player attitude, attention to detail and being comfortable executing under pressure and subject to strict timelines.
What You'll Be Doing:
Verify the accuracy of figures and computations of a bi-weekly payroll for more than five hundred employees
Process new hires, personnel changes, direct deposits and tax documents and set up appropriate accrual rates
Research and resolve all payroll related discrepancies
Produce manual checks, process stop payments, voids and reversals
Ensure that all accrual balances are accurate and processed correctly in the time keeping system
Review and approve bi-weekly Inform managers and employees of timesheets that are incomplete
Support all departments with their time keeping entries
Entry of bonus payments, step increases, process retroactive payments
Process final payments when required
Process special deductions and adjustments
Filing of bi-weekly payroll paper files
Distribute and mail paychecks bi-weekly
Set up garnishments and levies in a timely manner
Answer employees request for resets of passwords and other resets in a timely manner
Assist in year-end processing and distribution of W-2s
Assist in breakdown of deductions by department for GL
Audit HR input for accuracy of
Maintain accurate records of all payroll changes for auditors
Resolve most issues independently but refers complex issues to managers
Co-ordinate the interface between time, attendance and payroll system
Stays abreast of all time and attendance system changes and upgrades
What We're Looking For:
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Required Experience:
- 2-4 years experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong financial experience with background in ADP Paypert / Workforce Now, Great Plains, Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (must be extremely proficient with Excel) - Strong customer service skills, verbal and written
