Senior Managers in our Alternative Investment Funds practice oversee and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance for a variety of clients, including private equity and venture capital.
Senior Managers can expect to:
Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to market comprehensive tax strategies for prospective clients, etc.);
Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, remain current on legislative changes, and lead change effectively;
Review taxable income allocations in light of various partnership agreements, with a strong understanding in Sec. 704(b) as well as other relevant partnership code sections;
Oversee and drive the compliance process, inclusive of conducting primary and secondary review of complex federal and state tax returns; and
Supervise, train, mentor and evaluate the performance of Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
6+ years relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 5 years of Alternative Investment Fund or Financial Services experience (preferably in the Venture Capital and Private Equity space)
Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree – Accounting, Economics, or related degree preferred (Preferred).
Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (i.e. CPA or JD);
Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; and
Proficient use of technology.
