Boston Public Schools Stipend Opportunity: Behavioral Health Services Committee Chair in Boston, Massachusetts
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services Department or their designee STIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW: The Behavioral Health Services Department (BHS) seeks to develop a talent pool of current BHS School Psychologists to chair BHS committees. This opportunity will last up to 10 hours and occur primarily from September 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. RESPONSIBILITIES: The BHS School Psychologists will need to be familiar with the specific roles and responsibilities of the BHS Committees. As chair, they will be responsible for: Scheduling: scheduling all committee meetings, creating calendar events and Zoom links Facilitation: Creating and sharing an agenda, assigning meeting roles, and facilitating the meeting Data: Maintain and report attendance, share data and information about the work of the Committee Projects: Ensure the completion of the committee's required activities and projects. Communication: Communicate with administrators and peers about the goals, projects, and outcomes of the committee BHS Committees: BHS Multilingual Committee: responsible for developing and disseminating the best practices for assessing bilingual students. BHS Equity Committee: This committee is responsible for developing the BHS Equity strategic plan goal and the related activities and training. The BHS Professional Development Committee solicits feedback on their PD needs, conducts staff surveys, finds speakers, and formalizes the BHS PD calendar. BHS Sunshine Committee: This committee supports a productive and welcoming department through development team activities, acknowledges staff for their work, and arranges team-building events. BHS Family Engagement Committee: is responsible for gathering resources and disseminating best practices for school psychologists to improve their use of family engagement practices. This committee will support school psychologists through examples of how to embed culturally responsive family engagement practices throughout all aspects of their work (assessment, crisis, counseling, and prevention) The stipend will be paid at the hourly rate of $56.81 and once the responsibilities are completed. All work must be completed outside of contractual hours. QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: Currently working in Boston Public Schools; Appropriate school psychologist licensure. " />
